Statement of Solidarity

Eckerd College Library's faculty and staff share the anger and grief over the murders of George Floyd, Armaud Avery, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, and so many others who have been victims of racist attacks in the United States. We condemn racism, oppression, and discrimination. We pledge as your college library to commit ourselves to stand up against systemic racism and violence against African Americans and to uphold our college's values as an inclusive learning community.  We strive to develop spaces, collections, resources, and programming to serve our academic community to amplify the voices and the histories of People of Color. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Information is powerful. It can transform us and the world.
