Assignment: Intersections Essay

  • Consider the intersections between one form of identity from the second half of the course (race, ethnicity, sexuality, ability) with another form of identity that we have studied this semester as explored in a film of your choice by analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, and/or synthesizing information found through research.
  • Things to incorporate
    • Context for the film
    • Identities being discussed
    • mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, and/or sound 
  • At least three sources beyond your film, one can be course text American on Film
