The Eckerd Seed Library has been restocked for the fall 2021 planting season! More than 700 packets of seeds in more than 70 varieties of edibles, herbs, and flowers are now available to be borrowed and planted in your fall garden. The seed library is located underneath the main staircase in the library and you can see the full list of seeds available in our online seed catalog.
Borrowing seeds:
You can take up to 3 packets a week
Seed packets are free
Packets are organized by family
We are grateful to Herman's Garden Seed Donation Program and the Seed Savers Exchange, who donated 50 packets of heirloom seeds for our collection. In addition, many thanks to Tonia Krueger, Ryan McGovern, and Stacy Pitera Vinciguerra who donated extra seed packets and locally adapted seeds from their gardens to support our collection, as well as work scholars Cailey Williams, Madison Yezuita, and Jake Rider for help with fall seed sorting and preparation. Thank you!
If you have extra seed packets to donate or seeds from your own garden, feel free to drop them off at the front desk of the library. We are not able to take all types of seeds but if you have any questions, you can contact us at seedlibrary@eckerd.edu.
Happy fall planting from the Seed Library Team:
