Required Fields & Formatting Recommendations
ETDs (Electronic Theses & Dissertations) consist of any student-generated assets such as undergraduate theses, senior art exhibitions, presentations presented at symposiums and conferences, and other types of publications such as journal publications or video projects. Tracking these projects as ETDs allow us to analyze assets submitted by students.
To add an ETD assets:
Research tab > Deposit ETD
Required fields and formatting:
Required fields from system indicated with a *
- *Degree grantor - should default to 'Eckerd College'
- *Awarding academic unit - select discipline/department
- *Title - of thesis, exhibit, performance
- Subtitle, note the following
- For senior art shows, use "Senior Thesis Exhibition"
- *Degree Awarded - select BA/BS
- Project Type, choose from:
- Undergraduate Thesis
- Senior Art Exhibition
- Senior Capstone
- Performance
- First-year Research Associateship
- Ford Scholar Program
- Files - upload thesis as PDF, presentation, digital images, etc. Image files will be used for icon on Eckerd Scholar page.
- Access Rights - this defines who can view and download files.
OPEN (Available to everyone)
I agree to make my thesis available to the Eckerd College Community and to the larger community of scholars upon its deposit into the digital archive or successor technology. My thesis will be available in print in the EC Library or on Interlibrary Loan.
Locally Defined > CAMPUS ONLY (campus-only access via IP address):
I agree to make my thesis available ONLY to the Eckerd College Community upon its deposit into the digital archive or successor technology. My thesis will be available in print in the EC Library.
CLOSED (archived online but in-person, print only access)
I agree to make my thesis available in print in the EC Library, and in an electronic copy to be deposited for preservation purposes only. The electronic copy will not be made available to any users.
- For 2016 and prior
- Select Locally Defined > CAMPUS ONLY (campus-only access via IP address) unless permission acquired via Retroactive Thesis Permissions form
- Links for Remote Access - include links to documents or files that are openly available.
- Access Rights Policy - can be limited to 'faculty/staff/current students,' open, or restricted.
- License (optional) - choose Creative Commons license, if desired or indicated by author
- Contributors - list thesis advisors, other contributors
- Include Contributor Role; contact Library if other categories needed
- Statuses and Dates - this can be the thesis defense date, date degree awarded, presentation dates, etc.
- Description and research topics - add one keyword or topic at minimum
