EC Scholar Admin Guide

Project site for library staff responsible for EC Scholar administration.

Grant Form with Highlighted Fields

To add a grant, click Research Management > Manage Grants > Add Grant

Complete the following highlighted fields

 

To add a grant from the Asset page (for an event or publication), use the Asset Grant and Funders section and choose one of the options:

  • Select Grant - choose an existing grant already added to the system
  • Create Grant - add a new grant
  • Funder Only - only add funding agency

 

Grant Fields

Grant information is added as individual grants linked to Researchers, or as additions to Research Assets

Adding grants: Click Research > Manage Grants > Add Grant

Finding grants in Alma Admin: Click Research > Manage Grants > Click 'All' tab

Viewing grants in Eckerd Scholar: Grants currently appear on the Researcher Profile page under ‘Grants & Awards’ in Eckerd Scholar. 

Minimum Fields

  • Grant name - title of grant project to appear on Researcher Profile page
  • Grant funder - select from list. If funder not listed, add via the Research menu > External Research Organizations form
  • Grant ID

Suggested fields & formatting tips:

  • Grant URL
  • Expected Start and End dates
  • Actual Start and End dates
  • Status, choose from:
    • An Active grant is one that is not marked Inactive and not past its end date. It appears in all areas of Esploro.
    • An Inactive grant does not appear in other areas of Esploro (when selecting grants, for example). You can manually set a grant to Inactive.
    • A grant is set to Historical automatically after its end date passes. A Historical grant does not appear in other areas of Esploro but will be visible on the Eckerd Scholar site.
  • Amount
  • Category, choose from:
    • Federal
    • State
    • Private
    • Internal
    • Local
    • Other
  • Investigators
    • Add Eckerd faculty and select role - faculty need to be added as Researchers in order to be visible
  • Description
  • Research topics - choose from pre-defined categories
  • Additional keywords - add your own keywords and phrases

You can optionally associate a research asset (e.g. paper, presentation, event) with a grant by adding the grant to the Asset page under ‘Asset Grants and Funders’.
