Undergraduate study or graduate research/ study abroad, focused on languages, cultures, and regions outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand 

Wednesday, January 22, 2025 for fellowship and January 29, 2025

Critical Language Scholarships 

8- to 10-week summer institute abroad, to study one of 13 languages considered critical to US security 

The deadline for applications is May

DAAD 

Undergraduate and graduate study, research, or internship in Germany, both short- and long-term; some scholarships target specific fields (science, journalism) 

Rolling and ongoing 

Fulbright 

Study/research/creative project abroad (after a bachelor's degree) in any field, to increase cross-cultural understanding; English teaching assistantships offered in some countries

Knight-Hennessy

Knight-Hennessy scholars receive up to three years of funding to pursue graduate studies at Stanford. This includes the JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, DMA, and PhD programs, as well as joint- and dual-degrees.
