Scholarships, Fellowships, Academic Internships, and Grants: Italian

This guide is designed to assist members of the Eckerd College Community in identifying scholarships, grants, academic internships, and fellowship opportunities.

Scholarships and Fellowships

Study scholarships
The Leonardo da Vinci school gives study scholarships to 40 school or university students each year, providing them with an 100% reduction in the cost of a Standard 4 week course, excluding accommodation. If you would like to apply for one of our study scholarships, you must submit an application and enroll at the nearest cultural institution, adding a recommendation from your Italian professor and detailing the names and address of your school / university as well as of your teacher.

Study grants
The Leonardo da Vinci school gives study grants to 40 school or university students, providing them with a partial reduction in the cost of a standard course of 2 or 4 weeks, excluding accommodation. If you would like to apply for one of these study grants, you must submit an application directly to the Leonardo da Vinci school through the Italian Department of your university and your supervisory tutor / teacher.

Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Scholarships
You can also apply for a scholarship with the Italian Government. Each year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives scholarships for Italian language and Italian culture courses to foreign students or Italian citizens who live abroad.
Information about the deadlines for submitting an application, as well as the rules and regulations and enrollment forms is available at diplomatic institutions and consulates located in the home countries of candidates. Required for Leonardo da Vinci school scholarships. Enrollment must be submitted in the same diplomatic institution or consulate.You can find email addresses for Italian embassies/ consulates on the website http://www.esteri.it

Those who receive scholarships, must enroll at the school, after receiving the money.

The beneficiaries of the scholarships can choose where to study and when.
